Berrocal Healthcare Solutions was founded by me, Dr. Alexandra Acabá Berrocal, FACMPE, DHA, MHA, MSW, a healthcare operations leader committed to helping physicians and practices deliver exceptional care through stronger, more efficient systems. As President and Founder, I created this firm to support practices that want to elevate their operations, strengthen their teams, and improve the patient experience without losing sight of the human side of healthcare.

My career began in social work, where I learned to understand patients’ needs through empathy, advocacy, and deep listening. That foundation continues to guide my work today. Over the years, I transitioned into healthcare administration and discovered my passion for improving the inner workings of practices so providers can focus on what matters most: caring for their patients.

Today, I serve as the Chief Operating Officer at Drs. Berrocal & Associates. These roles have enabled me to lead transformative initiatives that improve patient access, streamline scheduling and workflows, enhance staff performance, and build a culture of operational excellence. I also have a Doctorate of Healthcare Administration from MCPHS University, a Master’s in Healthcare Administration from Boston College, and a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania.

I have had the privilege of presenting at national and international conferences and contributing to publications on diabetic eye disease, patient-centered care, and healthcare leadership. Since 2022, I have served on the Board of the American Academy of Ophthalmic Executives (AAOE). I am also a Board-Certified Medical Practice Executive and a Fellow of the Medical Group Management Association, and am actively involved in the American College of Healthcare Executives, American Society of Ophthalmic Administrators, and the Society for Human Resource Management, staying connected to best practices and innovations in healthcare management.
